There are many Bible storybooks for little ones but there are few in one volume that covers the whole Bible in a sequential order. However, this is more of a survey, and this is intentional because, according to the author, little ones ages 4 to 7 cannot grasp all the stories. I would change this to ages 2 to 4 or 5. When begun at a young age, children do catch the atmosphere of Bible stories faithfully told, if not all the details. And Van de Hulst certainly has a gift of creating atmosphere. I’m not sure whether the seriousness of salvation comes through, but mothers can explain and add as they read this interesting retelling of the Bible to their little ones. Source: The Messenger |
